Tsukiji is the world´s biggest fish market. It is also the name of a district located directly at the Bay of Tokyo. Its tuna auction became famous through many reports about Japan. But it is far more interesting to see the variety of seafood offered and sold in the early morning hours by hundreds of vendors. In October 2018 the market closed for good and moved to new grounds in nearby Toyosu. I visited Tsukiji over many years whenever I traveled to my second home town Tokyo.
